Kaiteriteri/ Abel Tasman
Soo, this blog officially made it to the South island and the golden (&west) coast now!
The next day I got on the Kiwi Ex bus again, driving to
Kaiteriteri this time. Kaiteriteri is next to the Abel Tasman National Park,
and has got very nice beaches. Like most of the west coast, it is famous for
surfing and kayaking, I didn’t do either one but still just sat on the beach
enjoying the sunset. In the morning I intended to do a walk or two on the
coastline, sadly most of them were still closed due to the big fire a month
ago. It has been the largest fire in NZ for almost 70 years, with 2300ha land on fire. It took over two weeks to get it down.
