Pukekohe A&P Show

Heya!
Great you made it to this post! 
The A&P show was a blast! Saturday not beeing my day, with my Google Maps not working and me not knowing the directions, I arrived two and a half hours later at the A&P Show than planned. The show itself turned out to be extremely boring.
Sunday was better, except for the Pukekohe train shuttle not beeing able to depart to Puke after 25min because the second one broke into two parts on the single tracked railway, the front half came back to Papakura/Auckland and the second one got left on the track. They organized some taxis, and it took wayy longer to Puke. At least the Show was better that day, more horses in the equestian section and I realise again and again that I prefer in-hand shown horses at a show...

 Cuteness overload- this little foal was just too young to leave behind at home, so it watched mum at the show
 A very handsome Dartmoor stallion- he knew how stunning he was
Last but not least: The policemens giant 18hh (~180cm) draft/heavy warmblood had an outstanding eye color

It was worth the wait going to the A&P show, and the Kaimanawas became one of my favorite horse breeds!

Whale hello there :) Kaikoura is the last scenic spot on the Kiwi Experience tour, afterwards the way goes up to Auckland again.  As the incident in Christchurch happened quite late, my time in Kaikoura was very carefree. After the rush of checking in, I went to the whale watching tour. As I was still petty sick that day and I’m not a good swimmer anyway, I didn’t want to do the dolphin encounter/swimming tour. At the end of the whale watching tour I was extremely exhausted from just watching that I probably would have rather drowned than swimmed in the dolphin encounter. Despite from getting very, very motionsick on the boat and this (not normal for me) was about the second time ever I got motionsick on a boat, it was awesome! We not only saw two sperm whales what the tour is all about, but also a group of Hector’s dolphins (literally one of the cutest animal species ever!!) and various species of birds and a few fur seals doing weird stuff. Ferry to the South

New month, new start? At least a new island to discover :D As I said, the ferry gets an extra post. I had a lovely time in those 3 1/2 hours, talking with friends and running to the sides because we saw dolphins every 10 minutes. And how lucky we were about seeing whales!! That's gonna be one thing we'll never forget. One little extra note, all those dolphins are Common Dolphins , not Bottlenose dolphins. And the whale is probably a humpback whale , but you never know...   Beautiful Marlborough Sounds The water color tho  I hope you enjoy my pictures, and see you on the South Island next post!

NaMoPaiMo 2020

Namo...what? You've probably never heard of this.  NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month, and takes place during the month of February. You basically dedicate this month to paint one model horse and achieve a goal you always wanted but never reached. While some people just sign up because they might win a prize and choose a model that doesn't challenge them, most pick a challenge. Some use this as an opportunity to finally try painting their own models, others to learn new painting technics or new paint mediums or a new scale that they haven't painted yet. One may note that this isn't a contest or a competition, everyone who finishes their model in February is basically a winner. There a prizes for a few people that outdid themselves with their pieces. Most of this happens via Facebook where people post their progress and give tips to those who need help or struggle a little, but you can also participate without it.
