Paihia

Image
Kia Ora to todays post! This is going to be all about Paihia, a little city in the Bay of Islands, ca. 300km north from Auckland and almost at the top of New Zealand. I've stayed there for four nights, originally booked 6 but my bus back to Auckland was full already and I didn't want to be left in the hostel for two more nights.  On request of a single lady (:p) I'll also tell a little about my accommodation. I've stayed at Base Pipi Patch in the Bay of Islands and it has been way better than the Base ACB in Auckland. Less people there, a more familiar feeling, hanging out with more people or also with just the whole roommates... I even met some people again that I met in Auckland.    And how could I not mention Harold, the hostels cat?  Let's continue with Paihia in chronologically ordered pictures. Enjoy! The next ones are already Day 2- tuesday   Not just a forest in the rain, but a real rain forest in the rain! (Manginangina)   At

Hello again to all of you! Today's Post is about more of Auckland! I'm currently in Auckland again, I can tell you soon where I've been to last week.    And I missed writing about I've already been considered as born in New Zealand by the bus driver on my second day here in New Zealand.. xD They still have old trams here! A very busy hen with lots of chicks all trying to slink away at the same time xD A huge scoop of Hokey Pokey ice cream! Actually New Zealands special ice cream flavor. It cost me $5.80, but one scoop was as huge as at least 3 at home ':D If you ever see this in an ice cream parlour, don't hesitate to try it! Its delicious and nothing like all you've ever eaten!   And how could I write a blog about New Zealand without showing you at least one Kiwi? (still the bird :p) very hard to see on this picture though... Skyline of Auckland from the Devonport ferry Okay this one is very hard to get

Kia Ora! [ kĩora] My big journey began on the 24th of November. After a 26 hour flight with some turbulences I finally arrived in Auckland, New Zealand at 5am. Due to Check-In in my hostel beginning only after 2pm I started exploring the city of Auckland.       Auckland Ferry Building    On tuesday, 27th I decided to visit Auckland Zoo. I've read before that they have some New Zealand animals there, including Kiwis (the birds :p). I'll probably won't see wild kiwis here, as they live in nature reserves and are nocturnal . I'm giving my best to name the animals right :D   tūturiwhatu   Austin the Parakareka     pāpango (and one of my favorite pictures so far)    On wednesday I visited the Auckland Uni Judo Club, everyone's been so nice! On thursday I had an extended walk through the east of Auckland and on friday another training at the Auckland Uni judo club! That's it for today, good night to everyone!
